The Koffelo coffee journal
Cold Brew vs Instant Coffee: Choose Your Koffelo Format

The quick answer: Choose Speciality Instant if you want a soluble powder for hot or cold coffee. Choose Cold Brew Signature if you want Koffelo's instant cold brew powder. Choose NOC if you prefer a liquid coffee shot. All three formats can be prepared without a coffee machine.
Separate the brewing method from the product format
Traditional cold brew is a method of extracting ground coffee with cold water. Instant coffee is a soluble product that you mix at home. Koffelo Cold Brew Signature is sold as an instant cold brew powder, so “cold brew” and “instant” are not mutually exclusive labels for this product. Read our cold brew vs iced coffee guide for the distinction between preparation methods.
Speciality Instant
Speciality Instant is made from 100% Indian-origin Robusta. It can be mixed with hot or cold water or milk. Explore jars, sachets and multipacks, and follow the preparation directions for the pack you choose.
Cold Brew Signature
Cold Brew Signature is an instant cold brew powder for mixing at home. You do not need to steep and filter coffee grounds. Try it in a black iced coffee or a milk-based drink; our iced coffee recipes provide starting ideas.
NOC liquid shots
NOC is a liquid coffee base. Pour it into water or milk using the serving directions on your pack. See the NOC preparation guide before your first cup.
Extra Bold with chicory
For an instant coffee and chicory mixture, explore Extra Bold. Chicory is part of this product's formulation; check the current label for ingredient details.
Choose by routine
- At home: a powder jar lets you measure and mix each cup.
- At work or while travelling: compare sachets and liquid shots for the format that is easiest for you to carry.
- For a gift: compare coffee hampers by their listed contents.
Does one format always contain more caffeine?
No universal comparison applies to every dose and finished drink. Use verified label information for the serving you prepare. A stronger taste does not by itself establish a higher caffeine content.
Do I need espresso equipment?
No. These products are for mixing at home. A concentrated instant coffee can make an espresso-style drink, but it is not machine-extracted espresso.
